WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Shauntay is truly an inspiration to anyone who is an atypical athlete. She has shown me time and time again that athletes come in all sizes, abilities and we all shine when our only competition is ourselves. She has given me permission to accept that failure is a teachable moment and the only thing that matters is that I get up the next day. Lace up, run, walk, cry and try again.

Being able to follow Running Fat Chef (Latoya Shauntay Snell) have been a life saver. Living in Sweden, I don't have too many athletes to follow that are similar to me in speed and body. Seeing Latoya Shauntay Snell continue the athletic adventure in good and bad times shows me that it is possible to do. She is a huge inspiration.

I've been following Latoya since about 2015. I am a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo. I am pretty active, and I am a thicker girl. I've always struggled for years with running. After following Latoya, she motivated me not only to get back to running but to actually run my very 1st 5k in April 2023. She always has the best words of advice and encouragement and just an overall inspiration to so many people/women, especially us thicker woman who most people feel we cannot do what the average or smaller person can do.

Latoya is a role model in perseverance and resilience. She has created a whole new world for the back of the pack runners and has proven that you can run in any shape or size. I’ve learned from her that running is not about a pace or a finish time. It’s about putting one foot in front of the other and not allowing anyone to tell you that you can’t.
